Facts
- This and Meet Little Bear were produced by Nick Jr. and Paramount Pictures on March 11, 1997. But even so, Family Tales is considered to be the second official Little Bear home video ever (Meet Little Bear is often considered to be the first).
- These episodes from this VHS release were not included as a bonus on any Little Bear DVD release.
- This VHS release includes a special interview with Maurice Sendak about how Little Bear is made for children.
- The Face Sings The Yes No Opera segment would later be seen on the 2000 VHS of Little Bear: Little Bear's Band and the 2001 VHS of Little Bear: Let's Play a Game.
- The Face Says Goodbye In Different Feelings Faces promo would later be seen on the 1997 VHS of Little Bear: Winter Tales, the 1998 VHS of Gullah Gullah Island: "Feelings", the 1996 VHS of Allegra's Window: "Allegra's Christmas", the 1999 VHS of Blue's Clues: "Blue's Big Treasure Hunt", the 1999 VHS of Blue's Clues: "Blue's Discoveries", and the 2001 VHS of Little Bear: Little Sherlock Bear, despite it being released in 2001 and featuring the two Nick Jr. Kids bumpers. In addition, the last few seconds of this promo would later be shown during the beginning of the Nick Jr. "Kids" outro with Face saying "See you later, on Nick Jr." (trumpet fanfare and laughs). The line "Right here" is cut off, however.
