Else Holmelund Minarik (née Holmelund; 13 September 1920–12 July 2012) was the creator of the Little Bear franchise and the author of the Little Bear book series.[1] She was a co-creator of the show Little Bear and was "closely involved in the creative process" on the show.[2] She created the story for The Little Bear Movie.[3] At ninety-one, Minarik suffered a heart attack, dying due to complications shortly afterward at her home in Sunset Beach, North Carolina.[4]
